Lesson 4:

Title of lesson:
Plantastic Plants!

Description of lesson:
For this lesson the students get to pick one out of three different flower options. These options are roses, tulips, or daisies. They will then research that flower specifically so that they can explain it's life cycle, where it commonly grows and how the pollination happens. This will expand their knowledge of plants, life, and more specifically plant life.

Assignment:
The assignment for this lesson is to do a research project. This project will be worked on both as an in class-assignment and homework assignment. The kids will have books recommended for them that can help them with all of the research.

Resources/materials needed:
This shows all that is expected of the research project and it includes many sources for the kids to use in their projects.

Flower Power Research Project

Technology reflection:
The technology that the students will use to do their research for this project will help them build their research skills using the web, but it will also teach them that research can be fun to learn and not just the repetition of information. Without technology, it would take the kids much longer to do the research and could cause them frustration and make them not want to strive to do the work.

Evaluation:
My evaluation of this lesson is that it's a little over the head of the kindergarteners. I don't want to give them a project that is too overwhelming for them and causes them frustration. I would hate to start off their education giving them a fear and dread of research projects.
