Title of lesson:
Taking Flight
Description of lesson:
In this lesson the student will be learning about birds and the main different types of birds. Cold weather, hot weather, flying, and non flying birds. They will also be learning that unlike mammals all birds lay eggs that need to be hatched for reproduction.
Assignment:
The in-class and homework assignment is to pick their favorite bird and find out if it lives in a warm or cold weather climate and if it can fly. Then they will present and explain why they chose that bird.

Technology reflection:
The technology used in this lesson gives students a chance to learn about birds without having to do much reading. They can listen to the presentation, and look at all the fun graphics so that they can associate what they are hearing with what they are seeing. This technology gives them a chance to learn through a lecture without getting bored and feeling like they are just being talked at the whole time.
Evaluation:
I feel as though this will be a good way to lecture students, but I worry that my students are not at the attention span to appreciate this lecture and learn from it the way it is fully intended. I need to focus on keeping the kids attention with great graphics, but making sure that I don't lose them on the lecture focus of the presentation.
