Description of lesson: This lesson is for discovering the differences and similarities between two human beings. Every human is the same in many different ways, but also very different in ways. This lesson will discuss the most common common similarities and differences between people.
Assignment: The in class assignment is two work with a partner and discuss things that you have in common and things that you have that are different. Then you will tell your class about one similarity and difference between you and your partner. The home work assignment is to either make a story book or a slide show about you and your best friend. If you do the slide show, you will need to write 6 sentences about your best friend and what you have in common and what you don't.
Resources/materials needed:
Technology reflection: In this lesson the technology used allows to see the physical similarities and differences between different individuals. This gives the students the chance to learn that every person looks completely different, but that they have some similar features with specific individuals as well as extreme differences. Without this technology you could not as easily show the differences and similarities between people, but with the pictures, you can compare and contrast with vast groups of people.
Evaluation: I think this will be a good lesson plan, I only were that maybe my students don't have friends they are close with and will want to do the assignment on 5 different friends rather than just one individual. I want to figure out a way to give them that option if that problem arises. No child should have to pick just one friend over others if they do not wish to.
